A typical day at the EMP Retreat

The day begins softly. Around 7:30 am we meet for gentle, playful movement and time to truly arrive in our bodies. If you like, you can start with a refreshing swim in the river. After breakfast, we pack our lunch and set off for one of the epic spots in the forest of Fontainebleau.

There, among rocks, sand, trees and wide clearings, our movement journey begins. Each session starts with a physical introduction to the place, warming up and group games, then flows into practices like Natural Movement, Parkour, Acrobatics, Play Fight, Partner Work and Contact Improvisation — sometimes in dialogue with others, sometimes in playful exploration of the landscape itself.

Around midday, we rest and enjoy our lunch in nature. The afternoon invites balance: guided movement, forest bathing, somatic practice, regeneration and free time to wander, rest or simply be. In the evening we return to camp, share a warm meal and light a fire the old way. Stories are told, music may arise, silence is welcome. Then it’s time to rest — in your tent or camper van.

This retreat is not about performance. It’s about experience, connection and presence — a living balance of movement, rest and shared adventure. Seven days to come home to your body, connect with others and rediscover nature as your playground.

Arrival at campsite: Saturday, 22nd of May 4pm
Departure: Friday, 28th of May after lunch
Location: Campsite next to the forrest of Fontainebleau, France
Nourishment: Three fresh meals per day.
Four experienced facilitators & retreat guides.
Languages: English, Deutsch & Italiano.
